A huge new development in Old Town could see the likes of Jamie Oliver open up a restaurant in Hull.
Plans to breathe new life into the city centre by creating shops and restaurants in an empty office block have been given the go-ahead by Hull City Council planners
KWH (Hull) Ltd will start work early next year to transform King William House in Market Place into several restaurants and leisure facilities, along with 30 high-end apartments.
KWH Ltd director Shaun Larvin, who was initially behind the Double Tree by Hilton hotel development, has confirmed he is talking to a number of national names.
He said: “We are speaking to the likes of Jamie Oliver's team and this is the kind of outfit we are looking at.
“There may be one or two shops, depending on who comes forward, but we are looking at bistros and restaurants to move in and these will be national brands.
“The apartments will all be one or two bedrooms with balconies and they will cater to the high end market and professionals.
